Online Gaming - The Dilemma I Face

I haven’t plugged into online gaming since back in 2002 when playing Halo at Gamespy was THE hot thing. I mean we’re talking pre XBOX Live era…

I loved it. We had a strong team of four and we kicked some serious butt.

It’s hard to beat the rush of team play. The strategic elements make it a lot more intense than just blasting away at AI by yourself.

And it’s wild how you can play a game a lot and think you’re good at it… then you go online and find out quickly how much you don’t know!

But in my case I have good reason for not plugging my game sessions into the online scene:

I’m a bit of an addictive type, and the minute I ‘go live’ I know my productivity as a work from home business owner will drop considerably. I really miss the interaction of online play sometimes, and I know it’s even better today with XBOX live, but I have to stay disciplined here.

Once I have a full staff, and can put my work more on auto-pilot I’ll treat myself to some online gaming. In the meantime I just play the campaign modes, which to me is a lot like watching a good movie and having the ability to get involved with the plot.
