Should Violent Games Be Advertised In Public Places?

In Denver, the RTD (regional transportation district) is moving to ban the advertisement of violent video games on their network, which consists of park benches and the sides of busses as far as I can tell.

Of course many game bloggers are up in arms about this but why shoudl we (the video game community) care? Is it so bad that people don’t want their kids to see blood and guts on the side of city busses and park benches?

I mean, those of us who want a good graphic video game know where to look for them so where is the loss? Let the parents be happy and you and I can just keep playing what we want.

When the battle moves into my living room, or into the storefronts that are selling the games I love I’ll be concerned. Aside from that I’m coll with a few concerned parents looking out for their kids.
